Cheese is tasty as a snack or as an ingredient in a meal, but choose your cheese wisely because there is a large variation in nutritional content. Cheese is beneficial because it contains calcium, but it also contains a high amount of fat and calories. When you are grocery shopping, read the nutrition labels on different cheeses. Look for low-fat cheeses that have half the calories per serving. Low-fat cheese can taste just as good as higher fat cheeses, and have just as much flavor. If you just can’t give up your higher fat cheeses, than try and consume less cheese during the day. You should also read the nutrition information to see what the actual size of on a single serving of cheese is, and you will realize that cheese is a calorie-packed food.
