Healthy Dips for Veggies

Published by runkin at 4:48 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Is it a constant battle to get your kids to eat their vegetables? You may try to encourage your kids to eat their vegetables by providing dips for their carrot sticks and broccoli crowns, but if you do, choose healthy dips. Don’t serve vegetables with fatty dips, such as ranch and blue cheese dressing. These dips contain high levels of saturated fat, and will counteract the healthiness of the vegetables your kids just ate. Choose healthy dips like hummus, yogurt, and almond butter. Sit down and eat the veggie snacks with your kids. If they see you are eating the vegetables and dip, then they are more likely to try it. Enjoy!

Those are great tips! I think peanut butter is not so bad, kids seem to enjoy that with slices of apples and bananas and celery. I had posted a snack recipe named ants on a log. It was simple! A stalk of celery, peanut butter on the center and raisins on the PB. Cute and nutritious!
Believe it or not, Salsa is also very low in carbs, calories and sugar and multi-grain tostitos has lower carbs than regular wise or lays chips (if you’re going to eat that as a snack).
