Gliding through the Winter

Published by runkin at 11:17 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

During the cold days of winter it is hard to get motivated to go outside and get some well-needed exercise, but once you are out there moving around you realize that it was well worth the initial effort. Personally, I really enjoy cross-country skiing during the winter, but now that I have a small child getting out to ski is a logistical conundrum. That is, until I discovered the ski pulk. The ski pulk has become my source of sanity when I need to get out and exercise, and simultaneously put my child down for a nap. Ski pulks are available in various models, but they are all basically a sled with a cover and poles that you pull it with. The poles usually attach to the sled and then to some type of waist strap, so that you can pull the child behind you when you ski. My baby loves to be pulled around in the ski pulk. I simply set her in the car seat and then strap the car seat in the ski pulk. She is then surrounded by blankets and a hot water bottle. She then is lulled to sleep as we ski the trails.
