Resolutions for the New Year

Published by runkin at 12:43 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Are you thinking about your resolutions for the New Year. Here are some tips for making those resolutions:

When making your resolutions, make them specific. Instead of saying, “I am going to eat healthier”, say, “I am going to eat a fruit or vegetable with each meal”.

Make your resolutions achievable. If you are going to start running as your resolution, choose goals that are going to take focused effort, but are possible. Instead of saying, “I am going to run a marathon this year”, say “I am going to run 2 miles four days each week”.

Make short term and long term goals. Set goals you want to achieve in January, as well as each month thereafter. Your monthly goals should be the steps you need to take in order to achieve a loftier goal that you set for the year.

Finally, have some kind of accountability. Whether you have a resolution partner or just keep track of your progress in a log, having accountability will keep you on track.
